They never undress completely. It's not out of dislike or distrust, or lack of attraction. It's just how they are. The nameless medicine-seller comes smiling and polite and Yuuko greets him smiling and polite; they exchange polite little gifts (a necklace of deep jade and tiny dragon-pearls; exotic herbs from a world with no name) before she draws her hand down his arm -- the same outfit every time she sees him, and though she's chided him for it, he only laughs and shakes his head -- and invites him inside.

And his mouth is full of sharp teeth and her skin is cold and tastes of smoke, but they are very old, and they know each other well. She parts her legs easily when he leans into her, and she kisses his forehead while he closes his eyes; and he curls his fingers in her hair and touches his sharp teeth to her throat; and together they have an old steady rhythm that is neither hurried nor awkward, his sleeve and her obi tangled together.

"A convenient arrangement," Yuuko says, on the last day he visits her; she lies half-reclined across artfully-arranged pillows with her hair splayed in a curved fan into the empty spaces around her. She keeps one white hand on her half-bare stomach and strokes the line of his shoulder where it flows into his arm with the other. "At least while it lasts."

He chuckles. It's a low noise that hangs in the air like smoke. In the dimness he is paler than she is, the expanse of exposed skin down his back and where his hair parts at the nape of his neck. She can see the fading red marks her fingers left across his shoulders and traces them one by one.

"It ... will be time, soon," he agrees. He pulls up his jacket until it sits properly across his shoulders. "The person you're waiting for ..."

"He'll come when he will," she agrees. She rolls over till her heavy breasts are pillowed on one arm. With her index finger she traces the eye on his back. "But he will come. And soon."

Briefly he pauses. He tilts his head, his headscarf loose in his hands. "And she--"

"If it's meant to happen, it will," Yuuko says. She presses her fingertips to the eye on his back. "You're that fond of her?"

He shrugs. He resumes tying the scarf into place. "She normally has good instincts," he says. "But ... she cannot help but get involved."

Yuuko laughs. She leans up and runs her fingers along his jaw till he turns towards her.

For the first and last time they kiss, mouth to mouth.

He's the first one to smile and pulls back, and he bows to her, lounging across her pillows like a queen, and gathers up his pack. She waves languidly, and watches him leave. Only when he is completely gone does she sit up and stretch. She's a little bit regretful: he had been very convenient, and there would be no time for any indulgence but alcohol soon enough.

Tomorrow, she thinks; tomorrow, and there will be a boy.

She'd best be waiting.

[OOC] Info Gathering and Stuff To Know About Yuuko

For those unfamiliar with xxxHOLiC, I'm going to just c/p the Wikipedia entry about Yuuko's shop since I'm feeling lazy. /o/

The shop keeps its secrets and seems to be selective in its clientel. When Doumeki Shizuka could not enter the shop and only see Yuuko's store as a vacant lot, Yuuko explains in volume 8 of the manga that since Doumeki does not need anything from her or the shop, it does not physically or visually exist to him. As a result, he cannot enter her shop like Watanuki, and must arrange to meet her outside of it. For a shop that can grant any wish, only a few seem to have taken notice of it, though she believes it is hitsuzen that makes it possible for those few to set foot in it.

With there being no direct English translation of hitsuzen (必然), here's a quick note on it:

Can be interpreted as referring to "inevitability", destiny, or fate. Interpreting hitsuzen as "fate" is not inaccurate, but in the context of the series, "fate" is implied as something that is immutable and definite, giving the idea that whoever is bound by fate is nothing more than its puppet. Instead, hitsuzen is the idea that an action is inevitable because without it, other related events in the future could not happen. Therefore all decisions and actions are related, and there can be no coincidence, only hitsuzen.

So what does this have to do with YOU?

1. Can your character see Yuuko's shop?

If your character is the type to strive for their innermost wish or die trying, then they probably won't see her shop. Like the example above with Doumeki, even when he was told what he's trying to acheive is impossible, he didn't give up but instead tried to find his own solution. People like that don't rely on anyone else, only their own strength. ~~I'll set her shop somewhere near the lake like in an abandoned boat shack like I had in her app or something, so if they can't see her shop, they'll just see this paint-peeling, rusted-over shack.~~ I JUST READ THE CABIN POST her store may be the second floor of Boys' 9, we shall see! |D;;

For those who can see it, i.e. those who are LEECHES and make people do their shit for them or similar |D, they'll see this grandiose Japanese-style house (link to come later).

As for the various beasts/supernaturals/spirits folk, Yuuko often has otherworldly beings visiting her shop. They drink and carry on and mmmm snacks~ I have no problems if you want your character to hang out or do whatever at her shop, I leave it up to you. Though she'll make you clean up after yourself~

ALL THIS BEING SAID, you don't have to interact with her at her shop! If you're not sure about if you're character can see it or not or just don't want to deal with it or WHATEVER, I can have Yuuko out and about and making house-calls for wish granting. I'm pretty lax about it, and will go with whatever you decide for your characters. o/

2. Can Yuuko know about: a) your character b) your character's world?

... This question basically boils down to "can Yuuko be in your base?" XD;; Yuuko being The Dimension Witch means she has the ability to travel to/interact with other worlds and has some knowledge about them. Since she grants wishes, she also has to know what a person truly wants; what makes them tick, if you will.

I ... don't know every canon in camp! Yuuko can go anywhere from vague references of canon events or very specific details regarding your series/character. It's canon that she reads manga so she would know about the whole being-fictional thing, too, though she would also know that they really exist somewhere in another world. Anything you want to tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Going hand-in-hand with this, is it okay for Yuuko to mess with your character's minds a little by teasing, goading, whathaveyou? Yuuko is pretty blunt when she wants to be ... which is most of the time, uh. If/when the situation arises, I'll probably try to contact you and ask if messing with your character is kosher or not. Fellow CLAMPers don't really get a say in the matter, she'll do it anyway. >D

3. What is your character's wish and what are they willing to give up for it?

This question can range anywhere from their DEEPEST DESIRE to wanting their favorite dessert for dinner. I keep thinking of Dumbledore and his socks With Yuuko, every action has some kind of consequence and an equivalent price. The bigger the wish, the bigger the price. Your character doesn't necessarily have to have a wish, either! A lot of it can be situational, dependent on a lot of other factors, or really just based on what they're feeling at the time.

In knowing the wish, it's up to you if you want the wish to be granted. I'm up for wacky adventures and general shenanigans too, if you don't want anything serious. There are also some wishes that Yuuko can't grant, as well. Wishing for someone to come back from the dead is impossible for her (and she'll leave that up to the moogles anyway). For wishes like "I want to break my habit of [xxx]", Yuuko will tell your character that it's all up to them to solve it. It's all about the motivation and sincerity of your character and their desire to see their wish fulfilled.

I'M STARTING TO GET TIRED so I basically want to know if it's okay for Yuuko to grant your character's wish and to exact an appropriate price for it. I can tie this in with her camp job of Lost and Found by having your character go fetch something that someone else lost ... or something. You can tell I'm losing it here. XD;; If you don't want her to grant anything, she can say no and tell them to gtfo and do their own work.

EDIT: For a better example on the whole price thing, Tsubasa is a really good one. Princess loses her memories, boyfriend wants to get them back, has to travel to different worlds for it, HUGE WISH --> has to give up their most important things, (his) relationship with said princess and (her) memories of him, HUGE PRICE. I'm totally not pimping out my canons here, not at all.

And to wrap this tl;dr post up, one of my main goals with Yuuko is to keep open communication with everyone. I'm very aware of how much Yuuko can switch to godmode on people, and want to prevent it as much as possible. Medical info: Pretty healthy considering she drinks all day and night and smokes pretty regularly. Might develop liver problems or lung cancer down the road, but ... lol witch.

Physical Traits: BOOBTACULAR no really how does she even stand upright. Is skinny as fuck, very leggy, and then BAM there's the boobs. Usually wears tight-fitting, very revealing, fashionable clothing. Styles her hair to match whatever she's wearing or leaves it long, too.

What's Okay to Mention: Anything and everything! \o/ It's canon for her to know What's Going On about nearly everything, so there's no spoiling her.

Notes For the Psychics: Mind is solidly closed! And if she catches you trying to peek, she will fuck your shit up. ♥ Any kind of leakage would only include vague sensation of plotting, but that's it. She also reeks of power, not doing much to hide it since she's used to people knowing who she is.

Abilities: A FUCKLOAD OF MAGIC, but she's also limited in what she can do and when. She can grant wishes, travel dimensions, manipulate time, speak through other people's minds, create gods for other worlds, and a whoooooole lot more, but she has a level of interference that she can't surpass. She also can't bring people back from the dead. She really has the ability to godmode on people, but she won't! Pesky interference level. >(

Shapeshift/bodyswap/etc.: I'm cool with it as long as you contact me first! Being in Yuuko's body has quite the potential for funky shit to happen. :Db

Hugging/Kissing/Nicknaming: Of course. /o/

Fighting: I'm not that good of an RP fighter, and Yuuko will just kind of stand there. |D She'll dodge and use a bit of magic to bind the person trying to fight her.

Job: Overseer of Lost and Found Items

Canon: xxxHOLiC portrays the life of Watanuki Kimihiro. High school student, living alone, part-time job... what's so exciting about that? Add a little spirits, a touch of the arcane, and the frequent CLAMP character appearance, and you've got yourself a whole lot of "what the hell just happened". All Watanuki ever wanted was to not be bothered by every spirit (and its dead mom) he happens to come across. His life starts changing when he happens to stumble across a very special store...

Ichihara Yuuko, also known as The Far Eastern Witch, The Time-Space Witch, the Guess-How-Many-Other-Names-I-Have witch, is the owner of the aforementioned shop. Being a powerful sorceress able to cross both time and space, regular ol' demons and ghosts don't bother her. In fact, they bring in business. Fulfilling wishes and providing assistance to human and non-humans is what she does best. That is, as long as you pay the right price for it. The more a person wants something, the higher the price, and Yuuko is such a stickler when it comes to her payments.

As Yuuko-the-person, she's known to be rather eccentric, outrageous, and, well. Sadistic is a good word for it. Conning Watanuki into additional servitude, drinking all day and night, and requesting outlandish prices for her services, Yuuko actually has a purpose for her unconventionality. Playing a mentor-figure for Watanuki throughout the series, Yuuko teaches him about human nature while he completes the tasks she gives him. Understanding a person means understanding their sorrows, joy, and love. No wonder fulfilling a person's true wish is the hardest thing this witch can do.

My, what a place this is~ Madam Sayre's lingering emotions seem to have infested the surroundings, and the borders she created are quite impenetrable now. Just another victim trapped for her amusement, hm? We'll see about that. ♥ I have my own limits of interference to be careful of, but I can't let my dear Director have all the fun~ And it's evident that she would like to play from the invitation I received. Her request to fill a position is certainly interesting. I think I'll take her suggestion of "making myself at home" to heart.

That abandoned boat shack will do quite nicely for my shop's temporary residence. Easily accessible for those who need it and can see it, of no consequence to those who don't, and an exquisite view of the lakeside. There's hardly anything better than watching the mermaids try to make unsuspecting campers part of their world~ Their singing is quite lovely, too. Their rendition of Amazing Grace is certainly encouraging to Marcy-san who's always willing to lend a tentacle or two to find lost virginities. My services won't provide much help to them, I'm afraid. Those poor, unfortunate souls.

Perhaps I can send my delinquent employee to help them out. I certainly deserve some compensation for the time he's spent here and slacking off. Maybe I can send him out for this and that and ... Hm, enough of this chitchatting and idle musing. Down to business~

For those of you who don't know me, I am Ichihara Yuuko, and I'll be the new overseer of your all of your Lost and Found Items. From the wayward sock to the missing limb, I'll be in charge of tracking, gathering, and re-distributing the things which you've lost. Unfortunately, losing your mind doesn't fall under my domain. You'll just have to find the cause of that yourself~ If someone can't find what they're looking for, they can speak with me to arrange a trade. Yes, a trade. My services aren't free, you know. Everything has a price. I'm a businesswoman, after all, not a babysitter of your things. Just keep in mind that perhaps your items wanted to be lost in the first place~

If you have need of me, my shop can be found near the lake. If it looks a bit different from what you'd expect, it just means that maybe you and I have something special to trade. And for those campers who have been here for some time have lost the sensation of something crawling in their skin, don't worry. Some of the zombies have paid that price for you; the sensation should be returning shortly. ♥

And now that I've done my little bit of introducing myself, I can afford to relax~ Oh, Watanuki! Come tell Yuuko-chan what you've been doing while having fun without your employer~
